Portfolio: Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion

The “Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion” is a mammoth book of advice and add-ons for running Chaosium’s most-loved Call of Cthulhu campaign.

It was recently released as a free PDF in celebration of the 15th birthday of yog-sothoth.com (YSDC).

Many people contributed to the Companion … my own part was relatively small and came about relatively late in the day when I was asked to contribute handouts for the several prequel and supplementary scenarios included in the book. Scroll down to see the handouts / props I designed, some of which have already made it into the final book … the rest of which will (hopefully) be in the final edit.

Jackson Elias’ Nairobi Notes

The original Masks of Nyarlathotep includes a handout comprising the “Nairobi Notes” of the murdered writer Jackson Elias. Despite being one of the handouts which sort of kick-starts the scenario, its not included in the original book as a replica of the notes but rather as a somewhat dry summary of what the Investigators will learn if they read the notes.

The Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion aims to remedy this by providing eight handouts which comprise replicas of said notes. Below are my renderings of those handouts.
