“In the Shadows” (CHA2357) is an anthology of diverse 1920s Call of Cthulhu scenarios by Gary Sumpter, published by Chaosium in 1995. While its three scenarios included a wealth of different handouts, unfortunately production problems during Chaosium’s printing of the book left most of them only partly legible in both print and (scanned) PDF versions.
As an effort to “rescue” these handout-dependent scenarios, we have created new handout sets for “In The Shadows”. A full set of 40 handouts has been produced for the book’s three scenarios “Devil’s Hole”, “In The Shadows of Death” and “Song of the Spheres”.
Feel free to use these handouts in any way that would enhance your game; they are released under the Creative Commons Share-Alike license (which allows unlimited non-commercial distribution). To get any benefit from the handouts you will need to already own a copy of “In The Shadows” — it is probably hard to find in printed form, but is still easily purchased in PDF via DriveThruRPG (although oddly not available at present via Chaosium’s own online store).
